Pueblo dancers mark longest day at Chaco Canyon

The longest day of the year was marked at Chaco Culture National Historic Park in New Mexico by a drum and dance group from San Juan Pueblo.

Andy Garcia Sr. and his group, the Tewa Dancers from the North, were invited to observe the Summer Solstice. Garcia said the event marks a new beginning, something that happened in his life in 1986, when he went into a coma. After he awoke, he decided to become sober.

Chaco Canyon was home to ancestors of Pueblo tribes.
