Tribe asserts jurisdiction over wildlife park animals

The Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation of Arizona is asserting jurisdiction over animals in a wildlife park being evicted from the reservation.

The Out of Africa Wildlife Park is supposed to leave by June 30. But just in case it doesn't, the tribe has called in veterinarians to inspect the 300 animals there.

The animals will become tribal property if they stay beyond the June 30 deadline, the tribe says. But the park owner calls the plan an attempt to "steal" his property.
