Nebraska tribes awarded rural development grants


Three Nebraska tribes have been awarded rural development grants from the Department of Agriculture.

The Omaha Tribe will use a $200,000 Rural Business Enterprise Grant to help start four small businesses. The Ho-Chunk Community Development Corp. was also awarded $200,000 to help four small entrepreneurial businesses in the Winnebago Tribe's new Ho-Chunk Village subdivision.

The Santee Sioux Tribe was awarded $45,000 to create a long-term redevelopment plan for both public and private businesses and community facilities.
