Former president Ronald Reagan, who died this past Saturday, once stabbed himself in the leg while filming a scene in Gallup, New Mexico, The Gallup Independent reports.
Reagan, a former actor, filmed scenes for "Death Valley Days," a television and radio Western, in Gallup. During one incident, he was fighting an Apache man -- who was being played by a local Navajo man -- when he stabbed himself in the leg. He was treated at a local hospital.
Local historian Martin Link says he would like to know the identity of the Navajo man. The incident occurred around 1965 or 1966.
