A former judge in British Columbia, Canada, was sentenced to seven years in prison for sexually assaulting young Native women.
First Nations leaders said David Ramsay deserved a harsher sentence for his crime. A reported 300 Native representatives were at court yesterday to show solidarity for the victims, all of whom had appeared before Ramsay in court.
Ramsay pleaded guilty to four sex charges and one charge of breach of trust. The abuse occurred 1992 and 2001.
