Iraqi television crew to study Native Americans

A television crew from Iraq is coming to the United States to include Native American view in a documentary about sovereignty.

The crew plans to meet with tribal leaders in New Mexico, said Indian Affairs Secretary Bennie Shendo Jr. "They want to videotape a discussion from the tribal perspective on this whole issue of sovereignty and governance and how we have been able to survive within the federal system in the United States for all these years," he was quoted as saying.

The crew is interested in learning more about how different ethnic groups are represented in government.
