The Southern Chiefs Organization of Manitoba removed Grand Chief Margaret Swan from her position in response to her guilty to plea to stealing from her own tribe.
Swan pleaded guilty to stealing $61,000 from the Lake Manitoba First Nation while she was chief.
She will be sentenced next week.
The Southern Chiefs Organization previously ousted its first grand chief.
