A Minneapolis man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the murders of two men at a party.
Samuel J. Anderson, 30, was found guilty of second-degree felony murder for shooting to death two men who were denied entrance to the party. The men, Francis J. Martin and Derrick S. Strong, also known as Derrick Whitefeather, were reported to be Indians who lived in Minneapolis.
Anderson will serve two 10-year sentences simultaneously. He faced at least 25 years for the murders but the judge downgraded the sentence because Martin and Strong, after being denied entrance, had returned to the party armed with hammers and had attacked party-goers.
