Homes donated by Air Force have lead, asbestos

The Turtle Mountain Ojibwe Tribe of North Dakota says homes donated by the Air Force are contaminated with asbestos and lead.

The Air Force gave the homes to the Walking Shield American Indian Society, a non-profit group that helps address Indian housing concerns. The Air Force says information about asbestos and lead were disclosed to the group.

But the tribe says it was never informed of any possible problems with the homes. Officials are trying to find federal funds to clean up the homes.
