The Narragansett Tribe of Rhode Island owes the town of Charlestown $58,454.88 in unpaid property taxes, down from an earlier $79,000 figure.
The town revised the figure after reassessing properties owned by the tribe.
The new figure includes interest dating back several years.
The tribe says it will pay the bill and wants to work out an agreement. Chief Sachem Matthew Thomas earlier indicated the tribe's lack of economic development was the reason the bills weren't paid.
