The New Mexico Public Education Department is holding a meeting today to discuss Indian education.
The meeting will bring tribal leaders, state officials and public school educators together to promote collaboration. The department has held the meetings for several years.
The department plans to announce the members of the New Mexico Indian Education Advisory Council and give an update on recent changes to the state's Indian Education Act.
