First Nations seek closer relationship with PM

About 70 First Nations leaders met with Prime Minister Paul Martin on Monday to discuss issues facing Canada's 1.4 million Natives.

Tribal leaders described the meetings as a success. Martin promised to ensure First Nations have a "full seat at the table" and said he would publish an annual report card to measure the government's progress on Native issues.

The meeting focused on economic, health and other issues.
