First Nation called murder capital of Canada


The murder rate on the Blood Reserve in southern Alberta, Canada, is 18 times the national average, according to The Calgary Herald.

Most of the victims are younger than 25, the paper reports. In the past 18 months, there have been four members of Native men ages 17 to 24.

The reserve is one of the largest in Alberta and is home to 9,000 tribal members. The reserve suffers from 40 percent unemployment.
