Oklahoma tribe breaks ground on cultural center

The Citizen Potawatomi Nation of Oklahoma broke ground on a $2.6 million history and cultural center.

The 30,000-square-foot building will house important tribal documents and artifacts. The building will also serve as a meeting space and as offices for various cultural and educational tribal programs.

The tribe also plans to hold its annual June general council meeting in the Long Room, designed to hold up to 1,000 people.
