After its traditional fishing economy collapsed, the Tulalip Tribes suffered from a 65 percent unemployment rate.
Now tribal officials say there are plenty of jobs to go around. The tribe has generated them through numerous economic development projects, including a casino, a shopping center and an outlet mall.
The tribe has started a construction training program to ensure tribal members are hired for jobs. A construction job can pay anywhere from $17 to $28 an hour.
