A suspicious, foul-smelling letter addressed to the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation of North Dakota forced the closure of several tribal offices.
Tests by the state didn't turn up any dangerous chemicals but the potential threat closed the main administrative building and nearby offices from late Tuesday afternoon to late Wednesday. About 300 people work in the buildings.
The tribe's homeland security staff and the Bureau of Indian Affairs responded to the incident.
