A woman working to increase the number of Indian teachers was named the 2004 Indian Educator of the Year by the Montana Indian Education Association..
Reno Charette, a member of the Crow Tribe, is the director of the Big Horn Teacher Projects at Montana State University-Billings. The project has seen the number of Indian graduates in the school's College of Education grow from three to five a year to 12 or more a year.
