Wireless Internet comes to Sauk-Suiattle Tribe

Members of the Sauk-Suiattle Tribe of Washington now have high-speed wireless Internet access.

The Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians entered into an agreement with the tribe and Verizon Avenue to deliver high-speed service. The partnership is being viewed as a pilot that can be used elsewhere in Indian Country.

The reservation was chosen because of its remote location. All 17 households on the reservation received computers and are able to attend computer classes.
