Noah White Jr., a member of the Prairie Island Mdewakanton Dakota Tribe of Minnesota, died last week of complications after a heart attack, The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. He was 47.
White was the first Indian elected to the Red Wing School Board. He worked to bring Indian and non-Indians together and was called a "great advocate for all kids."
White was recently re-elected to the tribal council.
