Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-Colo.) is going to introduce a bill to authorize a land swap between the National Park Service and the Crow Tribe of Montana.
Bob Krumen of Wyoming Outdoors said the bill will transfer at least 340 acres to the tribe. In exchange, the NPS would be granted an easement of 200 feet along a three-mile stretch of a road on 90 acres of tribal trust land.
The bill would authorize the Interior Department to take donated fee lands at the Little Big Horn Battlefield into trust for the tribe.
