The Pala Band of Mission Indians is trying to get rid of a junkyard the tribe says is polluting the reservation.
But Eric Thomson says he won't let the tribe remove hundreds of old cars, trucks and sport utility vehicles from a property he leases from tribal members. He lives in a trailer on the property, according to The North County Times, and has been barred from traveling on reservation roads.
The tribe issued a notice of trespass against Thomson, saying his lease is invalid. An appeal is pending at the Department of Interior. The tribe says it will clean up the mess and bill Thomson.
