A former judge for the Turtle Mountain Chippewa Tribe in North Dakota was sentenced to one month in jail for embezzling tribal funds.
Former judge Sharon Malaterre pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge. She will be on five months of home confinement and three years of supervised release.
Two court workers were given probation as part of the scheme.
