The mayor of Sacramento, California, is being criticized for reportedly accepting donations from two tribes.
But Heather Fargo says she can't find checks from the Rumsey Rancheria or the United Auburn Indian Community. The tribes have told the Secretary of State they each gave $1,000 to Fargo's re-election campaign.
The donations prompted a critical mailer from mayoral candidate Ross Relles. He broke city conduct code to send the mailer without first notifying Fargo eight days in advance.
