The Spirit of the Land conference is being held February 13-14 at San Diego State University.
The Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians is co-hosting the conference, which focuses on the role of Native people in environmental protection. Topics being discussed include sacred sites, Native foods, growth and the ocean.
The event is free and open to the public.
