The New Mexico Museum of Indian Arts & Culture is hoping renovations and new galleries will bring the crowds back.
The museum has raised $1 million of $1.4 million needed for the changes. The project includes a revamped lobby, five new galleries, an updated theater and an expanded gift shop.
A report showed that attendance at all state museum's has dropped 42 percent since 1988.
