The IWASIL Boys & Girls Club will serve Native youth in King County. Iwasil means "to make positive change in one's life' in the Lushootseed language.
A total of 143 clubs are located on reservations. The one in Seattle is the first off-reservation.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are 16,000 Natives in King County, 26 percent of them under the age of 18.
