More and more tribal members are joining the Pascua Yaqui Tribe's police force.
It wasn't always that way. The Bureau of Indian Affairs used to be in charge of law enforcement for more than 10 years. But thanks to gaming dollars, the tribe started its own department.
Of the 27 officers, nine are tribal members and seven have Yaqui heritage but aren't enrolled. Other law enforcement positions are filled by tribal members.
