Hale, an attorney who served as president from 1994-1998, will complete the term of retired Ariz. State Sen. Jack Jackson Sr. Jackson, a tribal member, retired for health reasons.

Hale, 53, was sworn in earlier this week. He will serve until next January. He would no say whether he would run for re-election.
