National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) President Tex Hall will deliver the second annual State of Indian Nations address on January 21.
The speech is designed to give a picture of the challenges and opportunities facing American Indians and Alaska Natives today. It is timed to coincide with President Bushs State of the Union address.
This year, Hall will focus on the importance of tribal governance. The speech will include examples of critical impacts of tribal governance in areas like education,
health care, infrastructure, and law enforcement, and it will offer solutions for
addressing the core quality of life issues tribes are facing in their communities
today.
The speech will be delivered at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. from 1-2 p.m. Last year's address was broadcast on C-SPAN.
