A Chicago-area PTA accepted a $20,000 donation from the Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin.
Parents in Lynwood took the money after it was reportedly refused by the local school board. But the board president said the tribe never raised the issue.
The tribe is seeking to build a casino or other development in Lynwood. Tribal legislator, John Dall, a Chicago resident said the donation wasn't meant to curry support for the project.
