The Bureau of Indian Affairs has condemned a 38-year-old school on the Navajo Nation.
The Sanostee Day School suffered major damage due to a cracked foundation, The Farmington Daily Times reported. Students have been forced to attend classes in portable buildings and eat in the gym.
A school board members said the board has asked Congress for money to repair the facility but none has been provided. The school was not on the BIA's replacement school construction priority list that was released in March of this year.
