The state of Michigan has ordered a health clinic associated with an out-of-state tribe to stop seeing patients.
The Department of Community Health says the clinic doesn't have a proper state license. But Anthony DeFeo, an executive with the clinic, says he doesn't need one because the facility will be owned by the Confederated Goshute Tribes of Utah.
The state is also concerned because DeFeo was the subject of a Food and Drug Administration complaint and was sued over a loan.
