The Oneida Nation of Wisconsin will pay the village of Hobart nearly $136,000 for municipal services.
The one-year agreement took several years to negotiate. Tribal and village leaders said they were happy with the outcome.
Under the agreement, the tribe will pay the village for primary fire protection to tribal lands and property, road maintenance to roads serving tribal properties, first-responder service to tribal properties and secondary support for police and other emergency services.
The tribe will continue to provide primary police and ambulance-rescue service to tribal properties and will help the village pay for specialized fire and road equipment.
