A new program seeks to help Natives from rural reserves in Manitoba adjust to urban life in the city of Winnipeg.
Ka Ni Kanichihk, a Native-run organization in the city, says the program will target young Natives. Many come to Winnipeg to attend school or work.
Sunshine Wood, a 17-year-old girl from the God's River First Nation, went missing this year after arriving in Winnipeg. Dwayne Ross, an 18-year-old from the same First Nation, went missing in Thompson, another city.
