The leader of a New Mexico tribe doesn't feel bad about closing the polls on Election Day.

Santo Domingo Pueblo Gov. Sisto Quintana kept voters away and told election officials to leave the reservation because the tribe was celebrating All Souls Day. "I don't have to explain any more. Maybe next time, they should pick another site so it doesn't interfere," he told The Albuquerque Journal.

The polls did finally open at the end of the day. The Sandoval County attorney said there was a long line of people waiting to vote.

There are 748 registered voters at the Pueblo, most of them Democrats.
