A member of the Blackfeet Nation of Montana has been elected to the Glacier County commission.
Democrat Michael DesRosier ousted Republican incumbent William Icenoggle in Tuesday's vote. DesRosier received 59 percent of the vote. He hopes to develop a positive relationship between the county and the tribe.
Michael Connelly, the prosecutor for the tribe, wasn't as lucky in his bid for county sheriff. He lost to acting sheriff Wayne Dusterhoff, who wants to create a cross-jurisdictional policing agreement with the tribe.
