Court orders removal of First Nation protesters

A court in Saskatchewan has ordered the removal of protesters at a school on the Piapot First Nation.

Parents shut down the school earlier this month in protest of a new curriculum. They said their children were placed in special education and are being taught at a lower grade level.

The Department of Indian and Northern Affairs says it will evaluate the school but asked the court to intervene after protesters refused to leave.
