The Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians is based in California but is spreading its money to campaigns across the nation.
The tribe gave an unspecified amount of money to the Nevada County Republican Central Committee. The committee then gave the money to a Republican candidate in another county.
The Viejas Band, which owns a casino, is ranked 9th among tribes making campaign contributions. The tribe organized a fundraiser / bison hunt for Rep. Richard Pombo (R-California) earlier this year.
