The Pima Youth Partnership, a non-profit organization aimed at fighting drug abuse among Native youth in southern Arizona, has received a grant from the White House Office of National Drug Control.

The group says it is targeting drug abuse on the Pascua Yaqui Reservation. Robert Ybanez, chairman of the Pima Youth Partnership, said 56 percent of youth on the reservation abused drugs in 2000.

The group recently received $500,000 per year over three years from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to fight drug abuse.
