A new version of the Lakota Times will serve the Pine Ridge Reservation and the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in South Dakota.
The publisher and editor of the paper is Amanda Takes War Bonnet. She worked for the original Lakota Times and Indian Country Today, its successor.
The financial backers are Patty and Bat Pourier of Pine Ridge. The Pouriers own convenience stores and a gas station that won a state tax lawsuit against South Dakota.
