Organizers of the South Dakota State Fair now underway in Huron hope to attract more Indian visitors to the annual event.
Historically, Indian turnout has been low. Organizers aren't sure why but they want to change that for the future.
This year, Loren Zephier, a member of the Yankton Sioux Tribe, participated in opening ceremonies for the fair. The Lakota War Dancers from the Pine Ridge Reservation performed as did dancers from the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.
