A federal judge sentenced a man from Zuni Pueblo in New Mexico 10 years in prison for a car accident that left a 4-year-old in a coma.
Randall Zunie was sentenced to three times the recommended guidelines for the May 2003 crash in which alcohol is believed to have played a factor. He struck a car carrying a mother and her two children.
Nicky Laweka has been a coma since the accident. The judge said his condition is tantamount to death.
