The ad-hoc Native American Caucus met again at the Republican Nation Convention on Tuesday.
The nonpartisan National Congress of American Indians organized the morning session for Native delegates and others. Rep. Tom Cole (R-Oklahoma), a member of the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma, and a White House aide spoke to the caucus.
Only a few states have sent American Indian or Alaska Native delegates to the Republican convention. The Democrats had a record 87 Native delegates in July.
