Staff at the new National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C., say that people will be able to use or perform ceremonies with items in the collection.
The collection includes 800,000 artifacts from tribes all over the country. Some tribes have already used items for ceremonies.
Part of the collection will be housed at the museum's storage facility in Maryland. The center will be open for visits during the week of the opening in September.
