The FBI is still looking investigating the Ione Band of Miwok Indians but will not confirm details of the probe, The Amador Ledger-Dispatch reports.
The tribe has been under scrutiny over its plans to open a casino. One faction was accused of beefing up the rolls with casino supporters but the Department of Interior's Inspector General said there was no wrongdoing.
The casino is supported by chairman Matt Franklin. Former chairman Nicolas Villa Jr., who claims the title of hereditary chief, opposes the casino.
