Blackfeet man named Disney 'Conservation Hero'


Ira New Breast, the former fish and wildlife director for the Blackfeet Nation of Montana, has been named "Conservation Hero" by the Walt Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund.

New Breast was recognized for his efforts to restore the swift fox population on the reservation. He worked with the tribe, the federal government and the Defenders of Wildlife to ensure the return of the animals.

New Breast is now the executive director of the Native American Fish and Wildlife Society.
