The Eastern Cherokee Band's proposal for a $49 million resort on Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) land has received a favorable recommendation.
The tribe's Sequoyah Lodge and Resort would include cabins, a hotel, conference center, retail shops, restaurants, a marina, a swimming beach and other amenities. It would be located on 40 acres of TVA land.
The TVA board will vote on the plan next week.
