Trial into beating death on Leech Lake Reservation


The first suspect accused of beating to death a blind man on the Leech Lake Reservation went on trial on Tuesday.

George Allen Raphael Boswell was 16 when he allegedly participated in the beating of Darrell "Louie" Bisson, 48. The brutal crime shocked the community.

Boswell is now 18. He is being tried in adult court.

Also facing trial are Jesse Royal Tapio, who was 16 at the time of the attack, and Darryl Johnson, 17.
