Several Native actors have joined the cast of "The New World," a film about the Jamestown settlement and the romance between Pocahontas and European John Smith.
Wes Studi, August Schellenberg, Raoul Trujillo and Michael Greyeyes are set to play relatives of Pocahontas and members of the Powhatan Tribe.
Colin Farrell is cast as John Smith. According to previously published reports, the film's producers went to New Zealand to cast Pocahontas. They are reportedly seeking a Maori woman.
Filming will take place in Virginia in July.
