Editorial: Dave Anderson should resign from BIA

Assistant secretary Dave Anderson should resign from his post as head of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, The New London Day says in an editorial.

The paper cites Anderson's recent decision to remove himself from gaming-related matters. "What does it say when the head of a regulatory agency has to step aside because of a conflict of interest," the paper says.

The paper says casino interests have infiltrated the state seeking "to make fabulous wealth on an activity that is illegal everywhere else in the state."

Anderson has rejected calls for his resignation.
